David, how exciting! I have not previously discovered this artwork of yours! I am of course immediately lost in your great storytelling. This wonderful painting has such a sense of adventure and aliveness. You do it all with watercolor which never ceases to amaze me! The light in the sky is so perfectly achieved. You never seem to get tempted back to go over something and mess up as I know can so easily happen with watercolor worked this way. No, everything is seamless and just so "right." Love the figures in the boat about to land and the tall sailing ship that they have left behind looking so stately and beautiful! Another historical work from you to marvel at! L/F.
