Painting from imagination based on my own photograph taken in the Cliff Gardens, Westcliff-on-Sea recently. Thinking of a privileged Edwardian family taking a leisurely stroll up from the promenade below in the glorious sunshine, circa 1907. The mother in blue is telling her little daughter to put her hat on straight, and daughter with hand on hip replied "Grandad, why are mothers so fussy?" Or words to that effect! :)
I have removed the obvious building extensions that were created over the period of time. otherwise the pathway layout and buildings in background are much the same today.
