Description
My vision of how Oliver Cromwell's House circa 1640 might have looked back in his time, from my photograph of the present building. I omitted the gas street lighting of course as that was at least a couple of centuries after and replaced it with another beech tree.

David, another incredible beautiful artwork....I agree with Randy's comment about the sunlight - beautifully created and so enjoyable! :-)
Iris Gelbart
I love it.....I loved English history when I was in high school......l/f
David Godbolt replied:
Thank you so much Iris, you were lucky then, I hated history at school as it was taught in such a boring way, and mostly lies anyway! :)
Andy Lloyd
your delightful, warm colours certainly set this off well. I would imagine Cromwell himself would have gone for something more austere, but I prefer your rendition!
David Godbolt replied:
Thank you so much Andy and you are probably right as I have seen an old photo about a century ago and it looks far more austere. Must have been smartly decorated now that it is a tourist attraction but I wanted to think that, newly built in his time it looked as it does now! :)
