The Pemaquid Point Light is a historic U.S. lighthouse located in Bristol, Lincoln County, Maine, at the tip of the Pemaquid Neck. The original light was an Argand-Lewis parabolic reflector, lit with candles and with a visibility of 2 miles (3.2 km). Augustin Fresnel invented a superior way of focusing light in the early 1850s and most lighthouses in the US were converted to the Fresnel Lens, with Pemaquid Point receiving a fourth order Fresnel in 1856. The lens is one of only six Fresnel lenses still in service in Maine. The keeper's house was built in 1857.
Welcome to my page on Fine Art America. I'm a photographer based in coastal Maine, who tries to travel and capture what I see through my lens as much as possible. I'm inspired as much by nature as I am by people and man made environments. Landscapes, seascapes, cityscapes, portraits, and more- let me point my camera in that direction and I'm happy. Photographing places is my first love. I don't try to create literal interpretations as much as I try to recreate the feeling of the place I'm photographing. Vibrant colors. Crisp edges. Strong emotions. I edit my images to bring out the emotions I felt as I experienced each place and to bring out my unique vision. My images are a reflection of the connection I feel with the subject I am...
